      Academic Promotion Guidelines 

 

 

Purpose

The students to be promoted and educated in a group consisting of students of the same age group

Repeating a grade level does not lad to improvement of students’ educational level, attainments and achievement.

 

The school has a Promotion and Retention policy which includes a clear statement of the age requirements for each year group or grade level according to ADEK and the Ministry of Education

 

Kindergarten and Cycle -1

Kindergarten and Cycle -1

All students in KG and Cycle -1 will be promoted to the next grade except in rare circumstances on request from parent/ guardian with the approval of ADEK

 

Cycle -2 (grades 6 to 9)  

Cycle -2 ( grades 6 to 9)

  • Minimum pass mark of 50% in Group A subjects is compulsory.
  • A student should obtain a minimum pass of D grade in all subjects.
  • Re-examination is conducted in only Group A subjects (Arabic, Islamic Studies, UAE Social St.& Moral education) for Grade 6 to 9.

No student of a certain grade will be retained for more than two consecutive times during his/her school education. Appropriate and necessary learning support will be provided to such students.

 

    Cycle -3  (Grade 10 to 12)
 GRADE 10  

GRADE 10

  • Minimum pass mark of 50% in group A Subjects is compulsory
  • A student should obtain a minimum D grade in all subjects.
  • Re-examination is conducted in only group (group A subjects (Arabic, Islamic Studies & UAE Social St.) and other subjects by CBSE in July.

 

 GRADE 11  

GRADE 11

  • Minimum pass mark of 50% in group A Subjects is compulsory
  • A student should obtain a minimum 33% in all subjects.
  • Re-examination is conducted only group in one subject as per CBSE.
  • No student of a certain grade will be retained for more than two consecutive times during his/her school education. Appropriate and necessary learning support will be provided to such students.

 

 GRADE 12  

GRADE 12

  • Minimum pass mark in Unified Exam for Arabic and Islamic Studies is 60% and this is conducted by ADEK
  • Final examination is conducted by CBSE.A student should obtain a minimum 33% in all subjects Re-examination is conducted by CBSE in the month of July only in one subject (Compartmental)

 

 Note:

To pursue higher studies in UAE or to work in UAE or to work in UAE a pass in the Unified Exam for Arabic is compulsory for all and pass in Unified Exam for Arabic and Islamic Studies for Muslim Students.
