The UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has declared 2017 as the “Year Of Giving”.
This is what the world needs, and we have to lead by example. We train not just to educate the students’ minds but also touch their hearts.
All of us have the capability and capacity to make a real difference in the lives of those around us. There are so many ways to give. We can give back to our environment – to clean beaches and deserts, to care for trees and to be kind to all inhabitants on our earth. ‘Giving’ is easy and
Abundant… it is feeding a bird, smiling at your neighbors, or going above and beyond at your job.
“Volunteerism is another way to give: volunteer an hour, a day or a week of your time; volunteer your skills, your knowledge and your energy”- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Our school volunteered the charity drive by donating “Non- perishable food items” to the needy through EMIRATES RED CRESCENT, a volunteer humanitarian organization that supports official authorities in times of peace and war.
The school collected all the items in boxes and then was sent with the school officials to Red Crescent office in Markhaniya. This opportunity marked a positive impact on the students and to add its dignity, we had the chance of conducting it in “THE HOLY MONTH OF RAMADAN”.
The collection and distribution was carried out for 4 days (May 28- 31), 2017.Different grades were allotted different days. The initiative was a huge success. Indian School thanked the UAE Government and the Emirates Red Crescent for giving this great opportunity to be a part in “The Year of Giving”.
